5 Easy Ways to Get Traffic to Your Website

So you’ve got a great site, a great offer and a great product, but no traffic. You’re trying to rank on the top of the search results, but it’s taking some time to get there. If you need a quicker way to start getting quality traffic to your site without having to wait until you climb the rankings, here are five strategies you can start using right away.

  1. Facebook PPC

If you need to get traffic to your site quickly, Facebook PPC is a great option. It allows you to target your specific audience using a wide variety of variables, right down to the TV shows and the books they’re interested in. Can Facebook advertising help with your SEO? You bet it can. The more loyal followers you have, the more traffic you’ll be able to send to your blogs by posting links on Facebook. More repeat traffic and social signals (Facebook likes etc.) are good for SEO rankings, so use Facebook advertising now and you’ll get good rankings faster.

  1. Google Content Network

The Google content network is similar to Facebook advertising, only it allows you to advertise on the millions of websites that participate in the Google AdSense program. The key to making this successful is to understand your target market, to split test a variety of ads and to use the traffic to build a list of followers. Just as with Facebook advertising, the Google content network will help you build a loyal list of followers, get more repeat traffic and, in time, help your rankings.

  1. Solo Ads in Newsletters

By now, you’re probably realizing how important list building is for getting repeat visits and for boosting your rankings in the search results. But you don’t have to wait until your own list is built up. You can use someone else’s by publishing your articles and blogs in other people’s newsletters. You can either contact blog owners who appear to be building their own lists or you can use a service like Charlie’s Directory of E-zines to find people who have email newsletters and who are willing to publish your articles.

Send out 5 to 10 of these invitations a day and start using other people’s lists to build your own list and to drive traffic to your website.

  1. Viral Content on Facebook & Twitter

Creating viral content isn’t as hard as it sounds. Infographics which use humor or which have hot and relevant, timely information which is interesting to your target market can go viral very fast. Sure, you might need to create 10 of these before one of them goes viral. But one viral blog, video or infographic can bring you hundreds of hits of traffic within just 24 hours. Sometimes, the viral content continues to bring you traffic for years.

So if you’re not already creating viral infographics, cartoons, top ten lists or viral videos, start working on a strategy now. In time, you’re likely to have a few ideas go viral and those ideas can create a lot of attention.

  1. Q & A Sites

This is one of the best ways to drive targeted traffic to your website, AND to make sure that your traffic will come from people who already see you as an expert. Find a few Q & A sites like Yahoo answers or sites which are specific to your industry and just start reading. Pay attention to the answers which get the best responses from users and only answer questions which you believe you can give a great answer to.

If your answer is good and if the question is one which other people want to know the answer to, that response could shoot to the top of the search results and create lot of referral traffic AND position you as an authority in your field.

Remember that all five of these methods are great not only for getting traffic, but for building a following. The more repeat visitors you get and the more interaction you get on your site, the better your site will rank in the search results. Start working on some of these and within a few months, you’ll see a big difference.
